Journey Through

Texture and Color

As an artist, I am captivated by the vibrant interplay of color, the dynamic power of collage, and the expressive possibilities of mark-making. Through my artwork, I aim to create texture, depth, and visual interest, inviting viewers to engage with each image on a visceral level.

My primary inspiration is drawn from the wonders of nature—the wild and cultivated flowers, the lush plant life, and the winding waterways that envelop me wherever I go. I am constantly in awe of the intricate beauty found in the natural world, and I seek to capture and convey that beauty through my art.

Having spent 40 years teaching art to students of all ages, I have now embarked on a new chapter as a Redux Studio Artist. This colorful leap into the art world is both exhilarating and humbling. I am grateful for the opportunity to fully immerse myself in the creative process, exploring new techniques and pushing the boundaries of my artistic abilities.

Beyond the natural world, I am also intrigued by the arch shape and the hidden possibilities it represents. It serves as a metaphor for the undiscovered aspects of life and art, encouraging me to delve deeper into my work and uncover new layers of meaning.

While this transition from teaching to full-time art-making can be daunting, I find solace and joy in the creative process. It is an integral part of who I am, and I am passionate about sharing that joy with others.
